Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Poor running/misfire/?running on 3 - brooksman

Berlingo 2.0hdi (June 2002) 90bhp got a bad misfire, sounds like running on 3 , has siemens injection system, had new injection pump 8 months ago, have changed fuel filter, we seem to have very little pressure out of the high pressure side of the injection pump to the common rail, have removed feed pipe from common rail , seem to have very little fuel delivery out of pump when cranking.Could it be electronic problem with pump, ie partially opened solenoid, or could pump be faulty.

You need to get a diesel specialist to look at it.

And fiddling around with it is likely to damage seals and make things worse. If it had a new injection pump, I assume the entire system was cleaned out as pump failure means metal through the injection system?

Yes it was done at citroen, but through previous owner, not us. Does anyone know of a code reader /fault finder that would be compatible with the berlingo?
