Hello, would be grateful for an opinion. Whilst on holiday with my car a 2003 Peugeot 406 hdi 90hp, the passenger side front suspension collapsed. I had a local garage fit new coil springs & struts/shock absorbers on both sides of the car. There is now a very noticeable gap between the top of the front tyres and the wheel arch, about 4 inches on the off side & 4.5 inches on the near side of the car. The garage are telling me that the suspension will have to "bed in" and that the car will lower in a couple of weeks with driving. I have checked the part numbers that were fitted against the manufactureres website (KYB Europe) and the parts fitted correspond with the age and model of the car. I happened to meet the local AA man who had towed the car to the garage, he was very surprised at the height of the car. I'm just wondering if there is any truth in what the garage are telling me that the car should lower itself in a few weeks or are they palming me off, why should there be such a gap, the cars appearance has changed & looks odd, though it drives & handles OK. Thanks for any replies, Tonyredz.
