we had taken the car into the garage to have the spark plugs to be changed. on way home the car stalled once and now we cant get it to start at all. we have checked the fuel line, theres plenty of fuel in the tank, but there is no power getting to the spark plugs or the fuel pump. she is turning over fine so its not the starter motor, she just wont kick in. she was running perfectly fine before the plugs was changed. any ideas? as this is frustrating the hell out of us and our mechanic lol x

Hi, just read your problem you are having with your car. First thing you need to do really is to have the car diagnosed by a fuel injection specialist or a garage with a automotive scanner. This might bring up a fault code relating to the non starter issue or by reading live data (depending on type of scanner) point the garage in the right direction. Could you post the year of your car, engine size and i'll see if i can help you on here. Good luck.

Hi, you need to locate the Inertia Fuel Shut-off switch which is located in the engine bay on the right hand side of the engine block. This is a switch which cuts off the fuel when you have a bump. They do sometimes just fail causing the engine not to start. It should be round or square with a rubber button on it. It needs to be unplugged and the pins shorted across it using a paper clip.

Hydraulic tappets are known to cause non starter on these particular models.

Models with the SL96-1 and SL96-9 Engine control units, the ignition coil fails causing damage to the engine control unit.

The about are common faults with these cars but to be completely honest, it needs to be plugged in with a scanner and checked.
