2004 Toyota Prius - Buying - Rajini

Hi

I am looking to buy a Toyota Prius T4 version 2004 registered from a local toyota dealer.

I want to buy Toyota Prius for many reasons,

1. Need to do atleast 70 miles/day on all weekdays and sometimes weekends as well, hence this is economical from fuel consumption point of view

2. reliable, reasonable comfort

3. Needed automatic with cruise control

it is priced at 7000 pounds.

I need your advice on the following please

1. Is it a reasonable price

2. I would try and sell the car in 3 - 4 years, considering the battery warranty would have been worn off in another 2 years. Whether any one would buy the car in a reasonable price

3. Are you guys could recommend me any other car with similar fuel economy and specs please.

Thank you

2004 Toyota Prius - Buying - Avant

Priuses, despite their complex mechanicals, seem to come out very well in reliability and satisfaction surveys, so thery are a good buy from that point of view.

They are at their best in town, but less good on the motorway where the petrol engine has to work hard and noisily to keep the car going at a reasonable pace. A good diesel would be better if your mileage is going to be on motorways - but you may struggle to find one within budget (if £7k is about what you want to pay) with automatic transmission and cruise control.

£7k seems a lot for a six-year-old Prius: I'm not sure what a normal price would be but have a look on Autotrader and see what the price range is.

Autotrader is showing cars this age at around half the price you are quoting I think Avants advice is pretty good I would have alook around at other vehicles before you decide to purchase.

There was a model upgrade around 2005 - identified by badgeson front wing under side indicators. Worth getting: suspension and seats.

£7k is 2005 model country so for a 2004 it's overpriced..
