Audi A3 - company car - melesp

Not sure if ayone can answer this but i had a company car in April 2009 that was involved in a traffic accident, the car was written off so my company has given me a hired car ever since, my question is do i still need to pay the annual company car tax benefit?

They are still taxing me on the Audi that i have not had since April 2009 is this right? i have checked the net but can not seem to find an answer.

Thanks in advance if you can help

Tax is based on the car you drive - not the one you wrote off.

It does not matter if the car is owned/leased/rented it is a% of the list price x tax rate

And personal taxation of company cars is actually your responsibility, not your firms. The firm has to send off a form every so often detailing the car you drive, but ultimately it is down to you to make sure its correct.

Because if it isnt, you are the one who has to pay back the tax - or in this case I suspect claim some back. What is the hire car? And why have you been in it for so long?
