Mini Cooper S (2006 model) - Stereo on with no ignition - dazco

Wife has a Mini cooper s fitted with standard radio cd player. Ive never noticed before but you can have the stereo on without the ignition being on. Is this normal?, i thought you could only have it on with ignition switched to fist position.

It alos keeps turning itself off after 20 minutes of use, however you can turn it straight back on. just a bit puzzled.

Sounds ok to me my astra can turn on and goes off after a set time not to flatten the battery

Likewise, the radio/cd on my Focus will run for one hour with no ignition

A lot of them are on a timer it will work for a predetermined time and then shut of.
