Is it true that run-flat tyres cannot be repaired if punctured ?

I have had quite a few beemers prior to this run-flat obsession, and was thinking of going back to BMW but the run-flats still put me right off.

Don't know about that, but they give a dreadful ride, I would fit a set of ordinary wheels and tyres, the higher profile the better.

Run flats are an abomination - so switch to conventional tyres using your existing wheels (definitely no need to switch wheels).

Not only are conventional tyres considerably cheaper, but the ride is much softer, there is less road noise and the handling totally transformed. Money saved over buying RFT`s will allow you to buy a conventional space saver spare wheel as well.

Interesting to observe that BMW tuning specialist Alpina always use conventional tyres and as a result produce the best handling BMW`s on the market.!!
