Employment rights - Ben 10

The legal forum is for motoring so I thought I would ask some general legal advice here in this section.

Employment law. You have been working for the same employers in the public sector for almost 28 years. The paymasters want to change your conditions. You refuse and they threaten to "sack" you on your old contract and re-employ you on a new contract and new pension scheme.

Within the law, can they do this? And if they are technically terminating your present contract to bring you back on a new one, do they need to pay redundancy allowance?

I think they will say that if you do not accept the new contract they will be accepting your resignation in effect. Companies did when they say changed retirement age or similar.

I'm not an expert on employment law but that sounds like constructive dismissal. Try googling this expression and see what you get.

Hi, Ben.Is that single status?

Whatever they call it.... that is what they will do. Refuse to accept the new terms and they can get rid of you without redundancy.
