vw sharan 1.9 diesel - clutch - richbev

i have a 99 sharan diesel. recently the clutch has started to feel differant. im thinking its probably about time for it to be changed. the car has only done 104 thousand but a lot of local work and 2 or 3 times a year tows a 1400 kg caravan. my question is would it be worth converting the dual mass type for a conventional type clutch as there is quite a difference in prices. are they difficult to convert over???

any help or advice greatly appreiciated rich

Don't know about your particular car but I do no that an ordinary solid flywheel is a lot more reliable and is not difficult to change, providing they make one to fit your car, I think DMFs were fitted to give the dealers more work!

You will not notice any difference.
