Hello,
I have got a 51 plate vauxhall corsa that had intermittent problems for about 6mths with random stalling and loss of power for a few seconds. The engine management light came on and then the car stalled at traffic lights. I had the car towed to where it is in cardiff now. A mechanic came out and plugged it into the computer and diagnosed camshaft sensor and charged £60 to replace it, This did nothing, He then spent 3 hours trying to find out why the car wouldnt start and eventually diagnosed a broken timing chain. The car has a few months tax and mot and im not sure what to do with it (it has done about 110k miles). I live in swansea and the car is stuck in cardiff. The car is only worth between 500-1000 so do you think it is worth getting the job done on fixing the timing chain or do you think it is better to try and sell the car to a garage for a couple of hundered so they can fix it and sell it on for profit or do you think i should sc*** it?
