hi there i own a 57 plate diesal ford mondeo and i have a problem with the fueling.

the fuel gague is a digital one but it keeps jumping between figures, e.g 30 miles till empty, 5 minutes later 60 miles till empty, 5 mins later 10 miles till empty etc

is this a common fault, has anybody else experienced this?
