ford focus ghia - Whats the cost of replacing brake discs and pads - chris01010

Hi,

I've just had an MOT on my S reg Ford Focus Ghia 2.0 and it failed because of the rear brake discs and brake pads are badly corroded. They have quoted £260 to replace them.

My question: Is this a reasonable price for replacing the rear brake discs and pads?

For £30.00+ you can get a set of discs and pads on ebay, the cost is in the labour although I would have thought you would have been able to get it cheaper than that, the real way to save money is to do it yourself. Shop around and get some more prices.

Wow £30.00 for pads and discs that is cheap.

Peter put the link up then on e bay for this offer?

Front set cost me £55.00 pads and 2x discs rears discs expect around the similar price.

That seems expensive to me, i would try national tyre services, they are very competitive.

In late 2007 I had the front discs and pads replaced on my 2002 1.6 Focus Zetec for £87 including parts and labour at my local independent garage. The car had completed 87000 miles.
