Switch to Linux and there's one included with the operating system. Best options are either www.opensuse.org or www.ubuntu.com

Not sure if it's what you're after but I use Primo pdf all the time - it will create a pdf from any application that prints - Word, Excel, etc. It instals as a printer and when you print to it, it creates and opens a pdf.

I mention it as it's very easy to use.
