French Autoroute - car over 2m? - a900ss

I’m going to France next week and due to the fact I will have a top box and a bicycle on my roof (over 2m), I’ll be classified as an ‘intermediate vehicle’ according to the French Autoroute website.

Will this make any difference on speeds or toll charges as I can’t see anything on the website?

Thanks

I think the height is measured over the front axle using a detector, in order to 'catch' commercial vehicles but not cars with a load on the roof.

Look at:

www.autoroutes.fr/fileadmin/user_upload/Rubrique_A...f

Bottom of the first page under 'remarques'

You will be ok. As previous answer said it s for for vehicles which are built over 2m high. The only problem will be not being able to use the automated credit card only booths-these have a height limit. These can be quite handy when queues build up-they seem to be less busy than the manned units.
