Has anybody got any experience/observations on the Chevrolet Tacuma. A dealer near me has a couple at quite a low price. Whilst not my ideal car a three/four year old falls within my limited budget.

They would have to be very very cheap at 4 years old new ones at Motorpoint are for peanuts. My next door neighbour has one does what it says on the box never let him down.

If it's a 2.0 car be very, very careful of the cambelt. The Daewoo-manufactured 1.6 is a decent engine, but the Holden 2.0 is a dog -- cambelts go sometimes after 20,000 miles.

Apart from that, not much goes wrong with them. Gearboxes are an old ZF model and go forever, and the mechanicals generally are too simple for expensive failures.

They are indescribably ugly though!

Lots of experience.

Firstly, MPV style gives good space for the money.

Second, emissions are very high on the old fashioned 1.6 engine. Check the Road tax.

Third, dynamically dreadful. This is not important to everyone.
