2000 Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI - Replacement Aerial - maximusimo

Hi,

my radio reception has been dodgy at best for quite a while and the other day I went through one of those automated car washes (silly I know as they are c***). Anyway, it broke my aerial and need a replacement. The bottom part of the old one is still intact and unscrews easily so was wondering if any of you can tell me is either of these a suitable replacement:

Easier to get a direct replacement from ebay. That's what I did for a few quid.

As for the others, well ask the supplier......

Ok, so just webnt to Halfords and replaced the aerial - no difference whatsoever. Could it be down the stereo unit itself?
