Suzuki Alto 1.0GL - Fuel filter-does it have one? - Norman77

2006 Suzuki Alto

I've just carried out a full service, and the only thing i cant find is the fuel filter. Does the car even have one?

I've looked in the usual places and cant find any sign of one.

I wondered if it had an in-tank non replaceable one.

Would really appreciate any advice on this one. I've trawlled through the internet but cannot find any relevant information.

Thanks in advance,

Greg.

I make Petrol and Diesel tanks for a Japanese co. in the UK . All the pumps and Diesel senders have built in fuel filters,so they are in the tank. They are big for the size of the pumps.Look a bit like round air filters. Its not possible to remove the filter without smashing the pump with a hammer !I've opened up a faulty pump to look inside in the past. These tanks are made of plastic so I cant imagine much crud ending up in them.
I've cut up old plastic petrol tanks and only ever found aluminium fillings in the filters. That's from Petrol Pump Nozzles.
But - I may be wrong about yours !
Good Luck.

I don't know for definite if your Alto has a fuel filter, but, as it's a 2006, I am willing to bet it has something similar to my Jimny, (2005). This has the high pressure pump for the fuel injectors in the tank, there is a filter on this pump which has to be changed every 126,000 miles, according to the service schedule in the handbook. So no great rush then!
