Servicing/major repair costs - Mazda-Man

Short of forensically questioning a whole load of dealers/garages and compiling a very long list, is there any way of finding out the servicing and major repair/maintenance costs applicable to a given make/model of car? I'm thinking of some sort of website or database accessible to the general public which gives some indication of the costs of annual servicing and the replacement of major things like clutches, cambelts, etc.. I seem to recall seeing information like this contained in some old car magazines in the past but can't find it now. TVM.

I'm almost certain that someone posted a suitable link on here about a year ago, and I recall that Mazda came out of it very well.

Do not despair, Mazda-Man. A proper chap will be along shortly to point you in the right direction.

Doesn't look as if anyone has a direct answer to this - I've been watching this thread and hoping that someone might!

Go to 'Ask Honest John' on this site (next to the Home button) and you could either ask him the question direcly, or click on 'useful websites' and see if there is anything relevant to the car in question.

We also have links to 'ask a mechanic online' - this could help too. It's at the top of this page as I type, but they rotate, so if you don't see it keep looking at other threads or go to Google..

I might just drop the big man a few lines...;) I think this sort of information would be very useful for all those people who don't enjoy the benefits of having a company car or change their cars before these things become relevant.

Mazda Servicing is extortionate! It completely put me off a 6 2.2d Sport at the start of the year!
