Vauxhall Zafira A - 2000 model (w) 2.0 Dti - Car won't start - PhilOgden

I have a 2.0 turbo diesel model. Unfortunately went on holiday to return with the vehicle not starting. No lights appeared on the dash, It did appear to have no fuel so this was added but the vehicle still did not start. Had it 4 years and done 115,000. Any ideas, I'm guessing fuel pump but could it be more servere....I have never had a problem before.

A common problem on this model, is deterioration of the spill pipes, allowing air to get into the system and cause a none - start. Ours did this, and my wife called out the RAC. He told her, and wrote it on his report that spill pipe problems were common as they got older. It can be worse if parked a little uphill. The local Vauxhall garage agreed, but didn't want to do it. Took it in to the diesel specialist that the dealer uses, and had an uprated? spill pipe kit fitted. Well, no more problems in the year she kept it before trading up to a later Zafira.
