Grass cutting survey - Easter 2010 - oilrag

Here, just South of Leeds - there is no significant growth at all and It reminds me of Astro Turf.

Seen a daffodil yet? None in our local area.

I`m not complaining you understand, because much as I enjoy gardening, cutting the grass is a chore.

Any growth in your location?

regards

Lots of daffodils near us now - although a lot later than usual. Some have still to come out. I had to cut the grass last weekend though!

Plenty of daffodils in my neck of the woods and a reasonable assortment in my own garden.

First mow and trim a fortnight ago, but it will need another quite soon.

Sneeze, sneeze...

Same here in Berkshire - not much growth and no need to mow yet, although a few zealots have been out. Another week at least before the first coup de grace.

Definite growth in Northamptonshire. First trim about 3 weeks ago, first proper cut last weekend. Growth still patchy according to shelter, sunlight etc. Quite a lot of moss so will need treating with feed and weed in another week ot two.

Daffs are almost past their best but tulips close behind. Apple, rowan and amalanchia all beginnig to burst bud, but white forsythia which usually flowers in Feb is still imrpoving it's show. Will be interesting to see what catches up and what is still late in May.

Usually seeing the odd swallow by now and Martins in another week or two. Nothing migrant wise at all yet. Apppreciate they're not migrants but seem to more Buzzards than for years.

Are you in the rhubarb triangle Oilrag? That might explain some of your more esoteric contributions ;-)

Maybe the rewbob discourages the daffs?

yes, The Rhubard triangle, Manitee ;-)

I have to confess - the Daff`s are actually out.. Must have been blanking on them due to the excitement of doing last weeks oil change....

You're easily pleased, Oilrag.

Now, where's that mower?
