2005 X-Trail, recently had an MOT and a service at the usual main dealer. On collecting the car was advised that after a test drive it was the opinion of the mechanic that the rear shocks were getting weak. Of note, this did not appear on any paperwork as an advisory and the car passed the MOT perfectly OK. Price quoted for two replacement shocks plus fitting was in the order of £650 which I though was quite steep. Inspected the shocks, no oil leaking and passes the Q&D bounce test correctly.
I'm thinking that business may be slow and they are looking for work but would appreciate any input on this matter. I don't expect a pair of rear shocks to be going home after 44k and 5 years of looked after driving.
