Ford Focus 2.0 tdci 2006 - Failing to start - Bicknell

Hi, My focus is failing to start. It was recovered by the RAC and he seemed to think there is no fuel getting to the engine. It has a quarter of a tank.

The garage have run diagnostic and it is coming with a P0606 error and P0089.

It has just had the oil filter and air filter replaced. recently the fuel filter was changed due to a loss in power when accelerating.

Thet believe it maybe the fuel pump?

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I have the same engine in mine, and had a similar problem caused by a faulty crankshaft sensor.

I have no idea about the accuracy of this website, but according to http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/, the apparent industry standard codes mean

P0606 PCM Processor Fault

P0089 Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance

Doesn't really help much does it? But it may be that one code caused the other one, or that the two are unrelated. Hopefully somebody else will be able to elaborate on possible causes and costs to fix... if nobody helps then maybe try a specialist Focus/C-Max site?

Hope that helps

If it has low fuel pressure its probably the pump and needs a new one.

Migh have been damaged by being fulled with petrol in the past.

Expensive.

Thanks for the help

The power supply in the ECU had burnt out with some relays.
