The front spring has cracked on my car suddenly and I'm at a loss as to how this could happen. 50000 miles on the clock, mortorway and A road driving, a wee bit of to the shops driving too. My list of failures in the last 8 months are: turbo, EGR valve, fuel cap sensor, 2 wheel bearings, full set of pads, rear discs and yet more pads, battery and the fuel stuff toped up. the anti pollution warning light came on a month ago and went off, but I'm sure it will retrun. Now a cracked spring. Do I need 2 replaced and who thinks I should sell the car?

Yea i'd get it changed as soon as you can. It may not cause you any serious problems, but it certainly wont pass an MOT... I dont think it will cost you too much to sort.
Was It you who had another suspension problem a few weeks ago? Something to do with a loose nut?
As to weather you sell it or not, you'll have to be mathematical about it and work it out. Depending on weather you think you'll loose more money buy selling it and buying something else, or by keeping it and bearing the brunt of whatever else could go wrong.

This is unfortunatly becoming a fairly common problem, not just on your car, another indicator of the declining quality of cars since the '90s.

I'll second that! I bought my first modern car last year, a focus, low milage and in good nick, but after a year of constant problems, one after another, I'm going back to old Escorts! At least old cars are simple to fix!

My sentiments exactly, I run Citroen XMs from the mid '90s, bomb proof by modern standards.

I have no choice, it can't be moved from its parking space. The aa are picking it up to take to garage. Wasn't me who had suspension problems before, just everything else!! what do we think about Kia cee'd?

With the state of the roads at present you can expect a higher than normal spring failures.
You could consider sending the repair bill to your local council if you know you've been along a road with a lot of potholes.
As for the KIa Ceed, I own a 406 estate 02 plate and the Ceed estate is next on my list.

I've driven a KIA cee'd as a hire car and it was the most hatefull, wooden souless car ive ever driven... HOWEVER, you can't argue with that warranty, even if the car is unreliable, at least it can be fixed for nowt. But bear in mind it will be worth nothing when the warranty expires.
