It?s not only old car drivers who can benefit. Happy Returns will allow those who were savvy enough to buy a Hyundai using scrappage another chance to pick up an unbeatable deal and own another new Hyundai.

Owners who bought a new i10, i20 and i30 last year will be invited to swap it for a brand new Hyundai wearing the new ?10? registration. The swap can be made any time up until the car?s first anniversary, saving the customer the cost of the first service and tax disc renewal. The new car will of course also have a new five year warranty.

The customer?s contribution to the deal will be £499 for an i10, £599 for an i20 or £749 for an i30. Customers will be able to trade up and down the range if they want to switch to a different car or add options.

What do we think of this idea? I reckon its a go-er, though poor old "apple" still hasn't had his first i10 let alone a new one.

We've got an i30 1.4 Comfort and i'm definitely going to consider trading it for a brand new version (now with bigger alloys, leather steering wheel and gearknob). Just need to see the full T&C's, ie if you bought a scrappage car with metallic, does the new one get it included in the £749 etc.

We have just traded our 9 month old i10 in for a new one and are delighted with the deal. Extras like metallic paint are not included in the deal but if you are happy with the red cars then a new i10 can be yours for £499. We won't have to pay out for a first service or for road tax so it is costing us something like £265 for a new car with a new 5 year warranty. The garage assured us that this is the last time that hyundai will do this deal but I think I'll be checking with them again in about a years time to see what offers are available.
