Sorry to ask an obvious question but how can I recharge the battery in my '07 Corsa CDTi without affecting the stereo security code as soon as the battery is disconnected?

Personally, I wouldn't disconnect the battery - as long as I was only using an ordinary charger rather than a 'looney tunes' fast one. I also have a temporary power supply thing with batteries in it that plugs into the lighter socket so the radio code isn't affected but I've never tried it yet.
If you do a forum search you'll find an extensive thread on whether you need to disconnect the battery while charging.

Your stereo doesn't require a code after a power interruption. It's married up to the car and would need divorcing (via Tech2 or similar) before working in another Vauxhall, and then would need marrying up to the other car.
The only things you would have to do is reprogram the one touch windows (open fully, keep button pressed down for 5 secs, then close and keep button pressed down again for 5 secs - repeat for other windows). You would also have to re-sync the central locking. All this is documented in the car's handbook - ie, RTFM ;o)
