Hello.

I am considering whether or not to do my usual Berkshire-Cheshire commute this evening. All looks OK at the moment on the various websites etc, has anyone done this journey in the last couple of days and will I be OK? : ) I heard the M40 was shut near Oxford on Wednesday but seems to be OK now.

If Humph B is on please can you give me a Nantwich weather update!? My girlfriend is uselss... she's South African so thinks this weather is the end of the world!

Try www.raintoday.co.uk/

A rolling radar graphic of snow/rain clouds. I'm watching the snow clouds slide in from the North Sea at the moment.

A few flakes at the NEC this morning, motorways around Birmingham clear. Wifew advises Stafford clear.

Forecast is light snow but after this week I don't believe them anymore. Still sunshine here.

You have obviously either done it or not by now ! But....for what it's worth, I did Cheshire to central London and back yesterday ( Friday ). No bother at all, traffic very light, three hours each way which is more or less unheard of on a normal Friday. Cold when I set off at 5.00 am, - 11C but with pretty much undiluted screenwash in the doofer it was fine. All main roads and motorways were clear. Just a few side roads a tad slippery. I think a lot of people must have been put off by the media hype.

Maybe we should all drive around in HJ hats to see if we can spot one another in Sainsbury's car park...There might be even more lurking out there.

Humph, why did you put screenwash in the TV remote control????

Nah, that's the zitter. Doofers are car things.

naw naw, sitting on the couch,
"who's got the doofer", no, not the cable doofer, the TV doofer" !!

We have TV zitters, a DVD zitter, several freeview box zitters, a stereo zitter and a new zitter which is supposed to do everything but which is always missing.. Zitters which open cars are key doofers. Any part of a car you can't quite remember the name of is a doofer too. There is a notable exception in the form of the thingummy for the locking wheelnuts which is a nut wossname.
