03 2ltr loss of power - skiden
After suffering loss of power like lot's of other Zafira owners, I've changed fuelpump/ecu, egr, maf, solenoid, relay, even the wiring loom connecting them. Bleed off pipes and other things checked or changed when fuelpump renewed. Still no better ! Funnily enough it always starts first time ! Anyone else any other bright ideas ? I've been told to get rid of it but who'd have it with the eml showing all the time ? I'd take the bulb out but that wouldn't cure the lack of power !

03 2ltr loss of power re topbloke - skiden
sorry about the delay in reply Top Bloke, been away enjoying myself skiing, had to cheer myself up somehow. The car's still the same, only tech info I have is.... MAP/Baro pressure ACT...... Unknown P1105 4352....Mass airflow...EGR Device ACT....Boost ACT....Uknown 57603.. That's how it was given to me, I don't understand it ? Hope someone doe's. All I know is last year it went into Limp home mode, diagnosed Fuel Pump/ECU £1800 ?? changed that, ok for 2 months. Then L H mode again, assumed it wasn't FP/ECU, so started a process of elimination. Mass air flow ACT, EGR flow malfunction Mem, extensive testing found live feed to ECU running from 12-0 volts causing above faults - traced fault to main Relay and boost control Solenoid, replaced those , no change. Replaced wiring loom between them all, no change. At the moment car still starts first time, ticks over ok, above 2 - 3000 revs hesitates & loses power. It's been double checked at S&S Diesel Fuel injection Services Guildford, they even end up scratching their heads !! I'm afraid to take it to a Vaux Agent it would cost even more money. Oh ! and the replacement F P / ECU was replaced under Guarantee because after all the testing it was thought that was faulty, but it's still not cured it !!! Heeeelp ! >> Not off hand TB will get them when my mechanic sobers up after the holidays

Hello TB, I see they keep you busy. Don't know if the extra info in the last post was of any use, it's way above my OAP head,it's not like my old "62 MGA". Not used the car much lately b'cos it'll only rev to about 2k usually, but saying that 2day I went out and apart from the first 5 miles it gradually went up to 3k - 3.5k revs b4 it ran out of steam and the EML came on. Had a chat to my local VX garage, after explaining it all to them they seem to think it could be the Turbo or CAT. I'm not so sure though, if it was either of those surely it would be more consistent and not a variable amount of revs. I have mentioned those to my mechanic and he discounted them in that none of the test have pointed in that direction. If I can try and describe what it's like, you may get a better idea. It always starts first time without fail, ticks over constant 750rpm. At it's worse, when I start off in 1st it get's to 2k rpm about 5mph and runs out of steam, like there's no fuel. Then I have to quickly change up into 2nd to about 10mph and so on but it all takes so long and I have to use the lightest of touches on the throttle b'cos it's gutless. As long as the road is clear I can get it into 5th and 2k in 5th is a quite reasonable speed. If there's any kind of gradient of course I'm restricted to 1st & 2nd and an embarrassing long queue behind me !! Perhaps you could put me right on one other thing, the VX garage said their diagnostic machine was specific to Vauxhalls and should pinpoint the problem, but an independent garage's machine will be just a general one and wouldn't be able to ! Regards Den.

I see this thread is a few years old... but did you ever find an answer to this?

I've had similar challenges with my 05 Zafira A and it's been in and out of the Vauxhall dealership for the best part of the last 2 years.

Yes the EGR valve has been checked, the fuel injector pump has been replaced (twice!) and they've bypassed big chunks of the wiring loom too.

If anybody has any ideas or can recommend somebody around Northants/Leicestershire who would have a clue I would love to hear from them.
