1960's style white lines over the roof are starting to appear. What next ~ matt black bonnets?

Vinyl roofs and go faster stripes along the sills would be nice.

The white lines along the bonnet and roof look cool on a low slung car like a Capri, just plain stupid on a dumpy little Fiat Punto.

 They've been on Colt's & 107's for about 3 years!

Blue Mustangs have been sporting white stripes over the roof for a long time, V8 supercharged Fiesta's are now available with the same paint job.

When i delivered 107's with the go faster stripes they caused such hilarity i'd make sure they were on the top deck out of sight.;)

If you want to get your stripes in the right place and the right colour here's the specification.

What the car must be in the owners mind for it to need white stripes over the entire shell, ...a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Much prefer 'sleepers', things like that 135i i had on the truck the other day, looked like a hairdressers car and felt nothing like, only the badge, easily removed.

Tell me, GB, do you get much of a feel for a car when loading and unloading the truck? I would have thought most of the driving would be 1st and reverse maneuvering.

Yes thats true though we often have to take them further.

Doing what i do clouds my view of cars and consequently i admit i have a hatred of cars that have poor low engine speed torque or cough and splutter and take several seconds before running properly etc, and i positively detest automated manuals whatever they might be called, they are a pita to load/manoeuver properly.

On the other hand many cars feel right the moment you get in them, perform flawlessly and are able to be driven easily and confidently, and seem solid long termers.

Those cars i don't like may be perfectly suitable for other people in normal use, maybe i should give a 'views may be clouded' warning in any of my posts, like on the back of a fag packet..;)

Stepson will be pleased - he has that on his (our old) otherwise red Yaris after doing his own repairs following a shunt :-)

There are some two-tone schemes that I remember as looking very neat.

In particular:

The Ford Anglia 105E (the one with the reverse-slope rear window) in maroon with a light grey roof.

Triumph Heralds suited two-tone paint very well - mostly the roof and lower parts of the car in a colour and the waistline / bonnet top / bootlid in white or cream.

The Rover P4 'Auntie' with its tasteful contrasting sides.

Sports cars like the MGB, Triumph Spitfire, Austin Healey 3000 or Jaguar E Type often had black or cream hardtops, which went well with most body colours.
