03 1.4tdci stopped blowing hot air - 1.4tdci
Hi Guys.
My fiesta stopped blowing hot air a while back it hasnt had any effect on the car, runs at normal temp, not using loads of water, etc.

checked the relays and they all seem to work ok.

any ideas what may be causing it...? one person has said it could be a valve or something, any help gratfully recieved! anything to stop me getting frost bight on the way to work! lol.

Either the water level is too low, or the water is not circulating through the heater matrix. Your symptom was identical to that of my son's old Citroen Xsara, a system where the water always circulates through the heater from cold. On hot days the engine would overheat.

The diagnosis was the plasticky impeller of the water pump had disintegrated from its supporting flat steel blades which were just spinning uselessly in the water without circulating it much, unless the engine was revved a lot.
All is now cured and thankfully I think the cylinder head gasket has survived!
