I have a severe intermittent problem, with my 1.6 gti 1991. I know 100% that it is a problem with the cables(loom) that connect to the fuse box,, the problems is every now and again the fuel pump will cut out, i have had the car specialists in to look at it, since being told to replace the fuse box, fuel pump relay and ecu, the problem still persists, when the engine cuts out i proceed to 'wiggle' the fuse box itself whilst coasting down the road, and the majority of the time, this caues the fuel pump to start working, this fault must be caused by a loose or faulty connector on the loom, ofcourse i have no idea which connecter that connects with the fuse box does what! if anyone could help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it!
im off to start replacing various connectors, even though the idea of cutting connectors of the standard and existing loom makes me feel sick to my stomache!
