Hi, i have posted previously about my mazda 6 & everyone else's DPF or related problems. If you have not already done so you have to get in contact with watchdog even if your claim is resolved. Even people who dont have mazda's but are having the DPF problem.

I've been trying as well as another person i am in contact with and there has been absolutley no joy - sending recorded delivery letters, emails, telephone calls. This morning i got in contact with the complaints department, he told me strictly, if you want to be heard get everyone who have had this problem to come forward and put there worries about this car across.

This is the only way watchdog will look into it, and when they do it could mean good news for everyone.

Admin/Moderators - apologies if this is in the wrong part of the site but i need a way to tell everyone. Thank you

Good luck Med. may be its time to create a DPMF forum! I think these issue's gets swept under the carpet because it ticks a box for manufactures to conform to certain requirements for government statistics & we end up paying the price

Lex don't recommend a DPMF for local driving! or if you live on an Island! so they do have limitations!

Yeah tell me about it, it's been non stop people saying mazda are telling their customers it's their fault. Enough is enough?

The more people i can get who put there story's into watchdog the better, my aim once i at least have a few replies of which i've had 1 so far i will be going down to watchdog head office & asking to speak to someone with high authority.

Once this, i'm going to my local MP. If this is a government problem & mazda are cutting costs to not research the technology as they should or warn people before they buy their diesels then it's something that HAS to come to an end. But, i need everyones help?

Any other ideas of what we could do to warn everyone and help us join the fight? I'll go to any lengths & i can just imagine how much money people have lost & want to get it back.

Thanks for the link, that's going straight to my solicitor.

as always, my email is on my profile thing.

Cheers.

I have just found this site by accident. I was driving my mazda6 2lt dl 2006 when I noticed the DPF light on . so I rang my local mechanic and he said to give it a good drive at a high speed on a motorway which I did and the light did go off. problem solved or so I thought, Two weeks ago I noticed the light had reappeared except it was flashing. I then brought it to my local mazda dealer and they told me I was one of the unlucky ones and would have to pay ?2200 for a new dps filter or a catalytic converter, which now I dont know if its the same thing or not, confused... they told me that I didnt drive it enough on long journeys . but that is bull as I did do plenty of long journeys as my millage would agree with 145kms on the clock. also I had noticed that I had to top up oil in between services. and I always serviced it at 9000kms. now my car is parked up as with xmas coming I dont have any spare money to fix it.

Sorry to hear your problems. If you had to top up oil then I don't think you've had the same DPF problem experienced by many on here. The oil gets diluted by diesel fuel and therefore the level rises!

Hi, unfortunately another one hti by mazda.

2,200 - but are they going to pay some sort of contribution towards it? as you did bring it into them firstly?

if you look at the other forums on here, i posted one a while back got so many replies with so many people having the same problem & there was a few who had to get that changed the same as you.

Maybe think about contacting watchdog? I'm going to see them in 2 weeks with all my evidence so anyone who contacts them before hand will help.

Mazda are telling everyone about these long journeys, myn even though something different was on a long journey. Mazda blamed me for not driving long journeys as it should be driven, but i was on a motorway road for like 2 hours. :S:S
