Hi

DSG gearbox in my Seat needs to be replace, the quote from the Seat gargge is too much and it's not worth doing.


So I'm looking at putting in a replacement box from another car, however I've been told their of problems with this as Seat tie the gear box and the mechatronic unit to the ECU. And even if you replace all three you still may have problems.

Can anyone shed any light on this.

What has failed, the gearbox, the mechatronic unit or the ECU? I had a mechatronic unit replaced on an A3 and a friend with a TT had his fixed, so no need to replace all components unless they have all failed.
