Hello, I am new to this forum and looking for some help to fix my pug. Any help is welcome and I want to share my information as well.
I?ve got Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI with the depollution system faulty. Since that fuel consumption a bit increased and reveres sometimes dropping. After scanning with OBD2 scanner the following faults codes been found
P1435 ? Additive system fault (unfortunately I can?t scan additive ECU)
P0461 - Fuel Level Sensor Performance
P2408 - Fuel Cap Sensor
After cleaning fault codes P1435 only comes on after engine start, but after few more starts and other two comes again.
I did research and it is linked to additive system. Is P2408 relative to P1435?
I noticed when I remove the fuel cap (both magnets present) and put it back the additive system pump starts work in about 5min and fluid goes to the fuel tank (as I have disconnected additive fluid pipe from fuel tank to check) is it mean that fuel filler cap sensor and cap is not faulty? So why I?ve got P2408? Or it is need replacing anyway
Also I have removed and checked additive system tank and it?s half full of fluid, so do not need to top up.
The other thing where is fuel level sensor in this model? Is it possible to replace it separately or it is integrated in fuel tank?
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

just for update,
new fuel filler cap sensor has been fitted and ECU resetted but P2408 fault appeared again which is totally confused me. will go for peugeot planet scan today

it seems these multiply errors related to additivie ecu fault.
does anyone know where is additive ecu in 407 2.0 hdi?>> just for update

If you do a forum search for posts in technical by user Screwloose you should find some info. He doesn't seem to visit any more though :(

Try a strip and clean of the pressure sensor that senses if the DPF is blocking up. Following this a forced re-gen of the DPF would be needed. Was a dealer tool used to get and clear the codes?

hi, Steve,
where is that sensor is?
i used pp2000 for scaning and clearing the codes. the funny thing is it shows fuel filter cap sensor faulty, additive pump, when actually fuel cap sensor is new and the additve pump working and injecting fluid in the fuel.
thanks Artur

You don't say whether the DPF has been replaced or cleaned. Main dealers will only replace it whereas some indys will steam clean it, however be aware that the run off from such cleaning is classified as hazardous waste.
If you follow the small pipes back from the DPF you'll find the sensors.
The fault code could well be false alarms triggered by the blocked DPF.

DPF is not blocked according to live data readings, but it is been cleaned now.
the DPF pressure sensor is a sealed plastic unit in engine bay but have no idea how to clean it.
Thanks Artur

noticed you are looking at the primary pump on ebay, wouldnt waste your money as the diesel 407,s dont have primary pump in fuel tank. we have several of these 407 in for this problem every one is usually different fault, but you must be able to reset additive ecu when refilled with appropriate diagnostic equipment, this is where im stuck have had five top code reader/diagnostic tools and theyre no good on peugeots, want to try the autoboss system next

Looking to see if anyone got a fix for this. I have a 307 hdi 06 plate and have had problems with the dpf for about a year now. So far have changed the turbo had fuel additive cap fault sorted and just had a new sensor fitted. Not had the dpf cleaned as live pressures were fine and was told it didn't need cleaned. But since fitting new sensor, one day and dpf fault and engine management light came back on next day??
