I have seat Toledo with a shot DSG gearbox. I have been told the box can not be repaired (can't get parts) so needs to replaced. The all in quote to replace the box with a new one is £3500. The car is 4 years old and has done 82k, so a sensible valuation with a working gearbox is £5500.
So my dilemma is what to do, get it repaired or try to sell it?
If I try to sell it, what am I likely to get for it how long will it take?
I'm just looking for options, the simple (and expensive) is to tell them to replace it, what else can I do?
Thanks
Gary

Ask around for someone who knows a garage you can trust to supply and fit a second-hand gearbox. It will save you a fortune!
To spend £3500 on a 4 year old car is ridiculous!

I was told if you fit a recon box, it will need a new ESU, that will put the price back up to a similar amount. is this true?
