Hi

The coolant bypass hose on my 54 reg 2.0 HDI burst and caused the engine to overheat and go into limp mode. I managed to replace the hose but when i have refilled the coolant and run the engine I cant get rid of the air bubbles, plus if i top up when cold it justs blows out the expansion bottle as soon as I start the engine. Also now appear to have a problem with the turbo system as below 1500 rpm its fine but above the engine surges and there is like the noise of air escaping. If you put your hand under the exhaust you can feel the surge
Really dont know, so if anyone has any ides I would be reallt grateful.

I would suggest that either the head gasket has gone or the head is cracked - sorry.

Pretty hot as the oil melted the bottom of the dipstick.

The odd thing is it starts and ticks over lovely and up to about 1500 rpm. Doesn't appear to be a lost cause. Just wondered if the heat exchanger could have gone as thats the area the noise is coming from?
