the washer pump is not working but the wipers are, im told they run off the same fuse so i need to change the pump. It is a cannister approx 10' tall, located under the o/s/f wheel mudflap i think? Is this easy to change, and why does it look different and much bigger than all the pics of washer pumps on ebay?

The washer pump sits at the front o/side in the base of the water reservoir, behind the fog light(if fitted).Access is from the front of the vehicle. It is a black plastic unit with 2 pipes that pushes into the bottle onto a rubber seal.It is less than 10 cm high.Get a replacement unit from a motor factor.A genuine part from Ford is over £50.hth

I replaced this myself a few weeks ago - and it's not a very difficult job.
I gained access from the inner arch and the wheel on full lock. Sourced the part from eBay for £12.
Just make sure you connect the 2 hoses the same as before, otherwise you'll spray your rear window when you want the front ... ;-)

cheers, do i need to empty the washer tank first, it looks like i may get a soaking if i dont. Also what tools do i need? or do the pipes just push on and off? Only asking because access and visibility seems limited, even with the wheel off!
cheers

Don't waste your time taking the wheel off.Jack up the o/s/f of the car and work from the front.Use a large flat blade screwdriver to ease the pump from the bottle.Put a container under the washer reservoir to catch the water. You will definitely get wet.The pipes are just a push fit.hth
