All the drivers who took part must have known this was criminal in one way or another.
It saddens me how many folk are prepared to act dishonestly.
And for what?
A half-price tank of fuel, a gain of £30 at most.

I would have thought there would be some nasty surprises on the way since presumably the offending vehicles will be on the CCTV

Frankly the garage deserve to loose the money for their stupidity.
40 fillups in a couple of days? you would kinda get suspicious despite the cock and ball story about a hire car firm.

I guess the person behind the counter was either in on the scam or didn't care either way.
If the card goes through OK, what does he/she care? If it was a family owned business then maybe, but someone earning little more than minimum wage probably isn't going to give a flying fiver...

Especially with all the false reassurances that this was impossible with chip and pin, but really it was just an excuse to put the cost of fraud onto the card holder rather than the card issuer.

I never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of people. And they are allowed to vote and have children. Lord help us.
MD.

... And they are allowed to vote and have children?....
1. Yes.
2. Yes, many actively encouraged to do so by a tax and benefits regime which favours the feckless.
Bitter? Moi? yes, a little bit.
