I like artifacts from the Art Deco era and prefer (for example) wristwatches in that style.
Motoring and garages though. I walk past a couple of `Sunburst` fronted garages on the way to the paper shop. Ancient or what - wooden doors and built when? Surely it must be the 50`s despite that era fading in the 40`s
What do you think of the style, on the motoring scene and would you like an Art Deco car?

I couldn't be doing with art deco as far as the car goes, but the garage buildings still look good to me. You see them all over the place in France - not many of them are garages any more though. Many are now upmarket apartment blocks.
When I was working back in Somerset about 15 years ago I tried to start a campaign to get a government listing for a beautiful old garage building from the 1930s in Burnham-on-Sea. It used to be called Tucker's Garage I think, and right opposite was an equally brilliant 1930s cinema building, being used now as a social club, I think.
As ever, I moved on and don't know if the garage is still there. Hope so though.

If you go to geograph.org.uk and type in "art deco garage" in the search field (top r/h corner) you get a few come up. if you just search for "art deco" you get a fair amount of buildings other than and including garages.

There is a Art Deco Garage in the west end of Glasgow - Vinicombe Street that is a listed building. Years ago it was to be knocked down - now to be preserved although lots of modern flats to be built around it.

The garage is the middle of the picture.

............ would you like an Art Deco car?
I like my car to be as inconspicuous as possible so as to minimise the attention of lowlife.

More like 1920/30s built. These doors were very common on the traditional pre-WW2 semi.

The Zero Degrees bar in Cardiff is in an old Art Deco garage. The coffee flavoured stout is excellent, the mango lager isn't!
