02 2.0 Unexplained slowdown - breeves
I've been experiencing occasional brief slowing down when driving as if I've applied the brakes momentarily. I've also been told of my brake lights flickering. Since I believe this subject has come up before (Linesman in March 09 I believe) I'd be grateful for any information to explain this experience and, hopefully, a cure for the problem.
(this is my first post as a newcomer)

It's probably the brake switch. I'm not 100% sure where it is on the Picasso.

The engine management computer thinks the brakes are on and so won't apply power at the same time.

Many thanks to the three members who responded to my post I'll examine the brake pedal switch and if necessary replace it or have it replaced.

i think that either the brake light switch has slightly jump out of position or the brake light switch is faulty.
the brake light switch is located underneath the dashboard by the brake pedal,if yu get a torch and get under the dashboard by the brake pedal you should see it when you move the brake pedal back and forth.

plenty of info to back up the faulty switch diagnosis - including refitting new switch instructions.
