I looked at these as I thought they offered a lot of car for not much cash. I tried the 3.0 V6 CDTi and found it OK. The interior however is a bit low rent and I understand they aren't that reliable. I didn't drive an Auto, but image the V6 petrol might be interesting!

You mention x3 3 point rear seat belts. The rear middle seat is small and in some cases is a fridge!! The other 2 rear seats are very nice though and offer similar comfort / space as the front seats.

As for value that would obviously be dependent on year, but will undoubtedly be massively behind "book".
