97 1.25 replacing drop links - Saltrampen
Tried to replace front ARB drop links, according to haynes use a spanner to hold the side opposite the nut side. However on the original ford part on the car, the bit on the other side of the threaded side it is a round part with 2 vertical slices each side about 3 mm wide. On the new part it is hexagonal all the way around. Most spanners are at least 5 mm or thicker. Therefore do not fit. Searched online for thin spanners and found nothing. Other than machining an old spanner (which I cannot do), as anyone managed to undo these drop links and with what?
Thanks!
S.

either prybar it off to get your mole grips on it
or cut the bar in half and do the same thing
new links are only a fiver watch you dont get stung too hard (go to a motor factors)

Quick look around the shops - Bicycle spanners are thin and can be used, also cheap from supermarkets. Maybe I should write into Haynes and tell them!
Got my link for £8 incl VAT - Local Fords wanted £38...for one! Tempting to say I wanted the drop link not an entire anti roll bar assembly!
