won't turn over. starter o.k.
If it won't turn over, how do you know the starter motor is ok?
Will the car bump start?
recon just fitted, tricky to bump start i live in cul-de-sac.
Is the battery fully charged?
it was charged, but drained it trying to start, been using jump leads with no luck.
starter motor
battery
wiring
or ignition switch
if he's drained the battery trying to start it then it is not a starter /battery fault, first thing to check is do you have a spark at the plugs if so then you need some fuel, can you hear the pump running (should be able to hear it briefly with ing on about three seconds) if you cant hear it then you could remove the feed pipe from the throttle body put the end of the pipe into a jam jar and breifly turn the ing on see if you get any fuel then report back your findings and we can go from there (be very carefull when mucking around with petrol if you arnt sure what you are doing then seek proffesional help please) Regards TB

thanks topbloke,i have removed feed pipe from throttle body and turned ign its bone dry. also removed fuel filter and turned ign nothing happening from line directly out of fuel pump.
okay next step is to see if you have a feed (12v) at the pump, raise the rear seats, look at the carpet and you should see a flap lift , under this is a plastic cover lift cover and you should find a connector and two fuel pipes disconect the connector turn the ingnition on and with a test light check for two lives post back what you get on what wire just check for lives at this time, one will be live when the ing is on all the time the other one should only be live either on cranking for a short period or just ingnition on for a short period 3 sec's so you will need a spare pair of hands, Regards TB

got feed all way to connection on fuel pump.i've had pump out of tank and it seemed to work fine, but it doesn't work in the tank.
so you have feed , do you have earth at the connector or did you remove the pump and use the original wires, remember the pump is not under any pressure to pump dry (eh) what i mean is it's not the same testing on bench as testing in situ where the pump has to physically move the fuel, Regards TB
