hello new to forun and hope someone can help, wife drove her 306d on friday morn left lights on came back 8hrs later no power in battery at all have tried jump leads and have left connected for around 15 mins turn key no dash lights at all, fuel gauge moves and alarm light was flashing on friday but when turning key went to solid red today when i tried with the jump leads no light flashing or solid have tried bump starting but nothing it does not have key pad and you just put key in and turn to start normally.any ideas?

It could be that your battery has died completely, in which case it won't hold the necessary charge to start it even after a few minutes of charging via the jump leads, they won't carry enough current by themselves. Did you have the engine running on the other vehicle?
If you have a multimeter you can easily check the voltage on the battery.
Prob won't start with <13v although you might get away with 12v.
If not you can take the battery out and take it to most places that sell batteries to be tested (e.g Halfords).
its possible that the alarm has come on and stopping it from spinning.
have you got the handbook which tells you how to turn off alarm manually?
will check handbook tonight and see if it says anything, also taking of battery to have it charged overnight

yes had other vehicle running (vw grafter deisel van) but having no dash lights whatso ever is this normal(im sorry not mechanicaly minded at all) and even towed it to bump start but nothing.
Is anything working at all, exterior lights, horn etc?
no lights, horn or dash lights, only the fuel gauge moves
checked the alarm switch under bonnet and it appears has already been turned off.

If that's OK check the leads from the battery to the fuses, also check the earth lead from the battery to the engine.
