Front page of the Manchester Evening News today told the story of a local mother and daughter who had fiddled the social out of hundreds of thousands of pounds with multiple false identities.......so far so good. The motoring link here is this, the daughter, Lorraine B**** ran an Audi TT with the number plate LOZZIE B..now I've racked the old brain cells and havn't come up with anything that might make this up...I tried a tenuous Irish LOZ 2138 but that doesn't come up on DVLA vehicle check. Any ideas ?
Mind you, how stupid can you be ? If you're running a huge criminal scam, why pick a number which is going to alert every patrol car and anpr camera in the country ?

Without thinking too hard what it might be... not sure that is even possible on current plates or previous.
If a current style plate then LO possible so maybe LO55 IEB and they stupidly reversed the 5 mirror style to an S?
If they did in the circumstances take the cars and sell them.

Maybe it was a 55 instead of ZZ ?

I don't think the letter 'I' would be issued in the final 3.

an 'L' with the lip missing somewhat so it looks like an 'I'?....people do some very sad things with number plates, don't they

Funnily enough this was a topic of conversation in work today. Local constabulary have taken to issuing fixers and reporting illegal plates to the DVLA.

I checked LEB on DVLA and that doesn't show. Funnily enough, these felons live not far from me and I do tend to notice odd or illegal plates in the area. I have never noticed this one around.

I can't say too much but I went to school with some people of the same surname, the school was in the area where these people live.
The number plate has been bugging me too. I was told that 1/3 people in that area also drive without any insurance but I also know some very honest and hard working people who live there too.

If they are very bad I have reported to the DVLA too. Sad I know but when made out to read something else it is wrong ;-)

That's my mate Lozzie B. When she's out of gaol I'll ring her up and ask her what it's all about.

LOS 518 B - 8 suuitably doctored with retaining screws?

The double standards of the DVLA over this whole cherished number plate thing is pathetic.
They have clearly retained various plates over the years which could look like words and then released them through auctions thus making themselves a lot of money. They have provide a cherished number plate service along with the ' wink wink nod nod " approach through their promotion and advertising.

If people are crooks anyway and don't mind attracting attention, why go to the trouble of doctoring a real number - why not just make up anything of your choice and use that?
Or would that be the last taboo in a lawless society?

There was a chap three or four years ago being shown on one of the Police Crash Action Chase programmes with an 02 plate Corsa who'd altered his number plate with black tape... but only the 02 part! So it read (with example letters) AB62 CDE. If you're going to do that, wouldn't you at least make it a feasible combination? ;-)
