I fitted new suspension arms to the old Kia last week. SWMBO used it the other day and reported a rattling sound 'like a coin dropping through a slot machine' when going over speed humps. We stopped using it.
I had a good look round, checked all nuts were tight and nothing had broken and took it for a test drive. I couldn't hear anything like she described.
I parked her in the passenger seat and set off to find some speed humps. I drove over successive humps, at increasing speeds, until at nearly 30 MPH she shouted out 'that's it' - what that poor old car has to cope with! I repeated the experiment until I was sure of the sound.
When I first bought it, one of the cords that lift the parcel shelf when the tailgate is opened had pulled through (it was just a knot tied in the cord), so I'd fitted a washer between the knot and the parcel shelf..........................
I suppose she's well trained!
