05 2.0 Engine temperature gauge - peakfrean
The temperature gauge needle on my father's Accord stays some way off the middle even when it's fully warmed up. He seems to think that it's no big deal because the car runs fine and the manual says only that it should rise to "about the middle of the gauge". I'm not so sure. I remember that my mother's old BMW did the same thing when it had problems with the cylinder linings.

Are there any other Accord owners who can tell me if they've noticed the same thing?

Mine is the same - only looks like it's at 1/3 of the range. They are not accurate but provide an indication only - you need to plug into the OBDII port to read the actual temp value and see if there is a problem e.g. stuck thermostat or go and buy a laser temp reader and point at the coolant hoses in and out of the engine block. This will tell you if you are loosing coolant in the engine if there is a big difference in values.
