i have a vauxhall combo van diesel and the fuel pump is broken, is it possible to replace this myself i have been told this could be over a grand to do in a garage
I believe the pump is coded to the car, so although you could DIY change it, you would still need it hooked up to Tech2 diagnostic equipment (or similar) for it to be married up to your car.
Sounds like the failure I had - any running or starting problems beforehand?
The fault needs to be properly diagnosed. If what you say is true, you're looking at the difference between £1000 for a new pump and £300 for a reconditioned fuel pump ECU unit. There's no point guessing which it is.
