Can anyone please tell me what oil goes in the gearbox of my car.
It has a slight leak from the driveshaft but I am putting off changing the seal until the warmer weather..

It needs 3.1 litre of Castrol SMX-S.

Depends on the gearbox fitted;it will have either an iB5 or an MTX and they require different oils.If it's a iB5,you just push the gearlever into reverse-if it's an MTX ,you need to lift the collar under the knob for reverse-that's how you tell them apart.Having said that it's probably an iB5.

According to the Castrol site a 99 focus needs SMX-S and a 98 Focus needs Syntrans.
