Hi
When I put the wipers to intermittent they only complete 2/3 of a cycle
I have changed the timer relay but this didn't fix it
Any clues what to try next before taking to the dealer?

OK - because the fault happened after the car had been driven with snow preventing the wipers from working I suspected something 'cooked'. I took off the face plate and behind it were 3 contacts supposed to slide on 'copper on nylon' contacts on a rotor. The inner one was indeed cooked and deformed. Removal of burnt nylon and realignment of comtacts has sorted the matter
