Yaris radio will not move off medium wave. Finger toggles on the steering wheel do not work Other functions on the radio as in the fm button / fuel average/fuel distance calculator also do not work.
On switching on the engine the radio bleeps.
Any advice

Hi Gerry,
Sadly your radio has an internal fault, it will need removing and sending to a company called 'Autosaound' in Bradford, they can repair it. However it won't be a bargain exactly. Expect tp pay £100-£200 for repair. Your local Toyota dealer can do this for you on your behalf.
Regards
Dave

There is an odd intermittent fault on our Yaris radio.
When the fault is there, turning on the sidelights zaps the radio.
The radio works all the time when no side / headlights in use.
I do not have a Haynes. Can any one tell me how to remove the radio?

???? thats an unusal one! Might be worth checking your tail lamps, are the correct bulbs fitted, or has one blown causing a strange short circuit?

Thanks yokel38.
Still the original bulbs from 4/5 years ago and all OK.
I will however see if I can remove the sidelight bulbs, give them a little TLC and refit.
It might be some sort of funny intermittent resistance causing a non standard earth path. ( does that sound technical enought :-) )
Thinking that it might be a poor earth between radio and chassis, hence my request for how to extract the radio.
